It all began at the family compound in Gianyar, Bali. The constant thumping of metal against wood transformed blocks of stubborn teak into masterful pieces of art. I learned under the guidance of my friend’s father. After three seasons of studying, I became an adequate carver. I am not a master, but I understand the process and designs, which helps in developing unique uses for garden structures.
In the gardening season, I worked in New Hampshire, tending to fine gardens and designing new ones that respected the native habitats of their locations.
Virgo’s Hand is the joining of these two lives. A way to honor the traditions I’ve learned and incorporate them into thoughtful and exquisite designs.
